Ready to upcycle your bong candle? The ultimate guide to removing candle wax

So you’ve enjoyed 100+ hours of quality time with your bong candle and you’re ready to sesh. Wondering how to remove the wax? We’ve got you covered! Our products are able to be smoked out of once your bong candle is gone. With a little know-how, you can easily clean out that lingering wax residue and repurpose those bongs or stash jars for all sorts of fun projects. Today, we're sharing a foolproof method to help you upcycle your bong candle and give it a new lease on life.

Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

Before we dive in, let's make sure you have everything you need:

  • bong candle or stash jar candle with wax residue
  • Just boiling water
  • Spoon or knife*
  • Paper towels or cloth

Step 2: Prep Your Workspace

Find a flat surface to work on and gather your supplies. Make sure your bong candle or stash jar candle is empty of any remaining wax and wicks. We suggest you keep the silicone stopper that is plugging the downstem hole on your bong candle in place during the cleaning process.

Step 3: Pour in some just Boiling Water

Carefully pour the very hot but not quite boiling water into the bong candle or stash jar candle vessel, filling it up to cover all remaining wax. Be cautious to avoid splashing or burning yourself.

Step 4: Let It Sit

Allow the bong candle or stash jar candle vessel to sit undisturbed for a few hours or until the water has cooled completely. As the water cools, the wax will rise to the surface and solidify.

Step 5: Remove the Wax

Once the water has cooled and the wax has solidified, use a spoon or knife* to gently lift the wax out of the bong candle or stash jar candle vessel.  It should come out easily in one piece. If there are any stubborn bits of wax clinging to the sides or bottom of the vessel, you can use a paper towel or cloth to wipe them away. *NOTE: although your bong is made of borosilicate glass, we recommend being very careful if using a knife to poke at the wax, as it is possible to crack it with enough force and we don’t want you to come this far, just to come this far.

Step 6: Clean and Dry

Give the bong candle or stash jar candle vessel a quick rinse with warm soapy water to remove any remaining residue, then dry it thoroughly with a clean towel or blow dryer (this works best for the odd-shaped bong candle). If you would like to remove the labels, simply soak them in warm soapy water. Any remaining adhesive can be removed with goo gone or rubbing alcohol.

Step 7: Upcycle & stash

Now that your bong candle or stash jar candle is clean and wax-free, you can repurpose it however you like! Use our downstem + bowl to convert your bong candle into a sweet bong, paint it or customize it any way you’d like, or use it as a flower vase! Our stash jar candles have an air-tight lid which is great for storing your favorite strain of sticky-icky-icky.  The possibilities are endless!

And there you have it—a simple and effective way to clean out your bong candles and give them a new life. So the next time you burn through a candle, don't toss out the jar. Instead, get creative and see how you can repurpose it into something beautiful and useful. Happy seshing!
